Blown-In Insulation

Blown-in insulation has become an industry standard for properties across the country. We use a variety of materials including cellulose insulation, fiberglass, and rockwool. If you would like recommendations for which insulation is best suited for your property, or you would like a quote or more information about our insulation process, please contact our team here at Heat Loss Management.

What Is Blown-In Insulation?

Blown-in insulation is different from batts. Batts are pre-cut panels of insulation that need to be cut by hand and placed by a contractor. By contrast, blown-in insulation is a loose insulation material that provides better coverage as it can be blown in to fill any nooks crannies, or other odd angles of your property. There are multiple types of materials that can be used for blown-in insulation that have unique benefits and characteristics. Compared to batts insulation, blown-in provides better coverage efficiency but requires you to work with contractors who have the technology and experience to install it. Here at Heat Loss Management New Hampshire we work a few different materials.

Blown-in Cellulose Insulation in New Hampshire

Cellulose insulation is made from recycled newspaper, cardboard, and similar materials. It is a cost-effective material that is good for the environment in a few different ways. First and foremost, because it is a recycled material it prevents materials from wasting space in landfills. Secondly, when it is installed using the blown-in method it provides excellent coverage which can help reduce the energy needed to heat or cool your property which is also better for the environment (and your wallet).

Blown-in Fiberglass Insulation in New Hampshire

Fiberglass is the most well-known insulation material. It is made from strands of glass that are woven into a mat. Fiberglass is both mold resistant and can help prevent fires from spreading within a property. Fiberglass tends to be a little bit more expensive than cellulose, but it provides more protection.

Rockwool is usually the most expensive type of insulation material. It is made from a mix of slag and basalt rock. This makes the insulation not only very effective in preventing heat loss from a property but it is also much more fireproof and good at dampening sound from outdoors. This material resists mold as well. Altogether, rock wool provides the most protection but is also made from the most expensive materials.
