Air Barrier Sealing
Heat Loss Management provides services designed to shore up the property’s insulation. Business owners and homeowners lose millions of dollars every year in utility costs for heating and air conditioning their properties. One of the largest reasons for this is energy inefficiency caused by small air leaks throughout a property. Air barrier sealing is one of the best ways to address this problem and ensure that your property is efficient. We are Aeroseal Envelope dealers in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. If you are interested in learning how this could help your property, please contact our team for a quote.
What Is Air Barrier Sealing?
Air Barrier Sealing works by finding and sealing any potential air leaks throughout a property. This is done by pressurizing a home using a modified blower. Naturally, air will move towards any potential leaks. Aeroseal remote stations placed strategically throughout the property will distribute Aeroseal, which is a non-toxic water-based sealant into the air. As the air moves through the leaks the Aeroseal seals up any of these holes. This system allows us to guarantee that a property passes an ACH50 test. ACH50 stands for air changes per hour at 50 pascals. This measurement proves that air pressure is not changing within a property, which means there are no air leaks.
What Is a Blower Door Test?
A blower door test is one way to test the efficiency of a property’s insulation. During the test a building is depressurized to negative 50 Pascals. This is done by using a blower door to exhaust air out of a building until the pressure differential between the inside and outside of a property is negative 50 Pa. While this is done, contractors can take measurements of how the pressure within the building changes over time.
Other Benefits of Air Barrier Sealing
Because air barrier sealing finds and plugs up any leaks throughout your property it has a variety of benefits for property owners. First and foremost, you will spend less on heating and air conditioning throughout the year which is great for your wallet and great for energy costs. This also means it is less likely that you will experience drafts or temperature inconsistency throughout your property. On top of that, air barrier sealing also helps reduce outdoor noise pollution which makes it a great option for people who live in denser communities.
Is My Property A Good Fit For Air Barrier Sealing?
